Wind storm damage
Just in case I missed having the Santa Ana winds back in Cali, a wind storm blew through Ohio on Sept. 14, taking down trees and cutting off power for hundreds of thousands of people. And instead of brushfires up in the hills, we've got flames igniting fields of mulch.
Haha, my stepmom...
These winds were remnants of Hurricane Ike and with wind gusts around 70 mph and knocking me to the ground, I can't imagine the force of the Hurricane when it hit the Gulf coast.
Luckily, we didn't have any power outages, but our house did take a bit of damage.

We didn't think that we were going to have anyone work on our house until next week because of insurance and bank issues, but the forecast calls for rain tomorrow and someone must have made sure that the work was done today before any more damage happens. Thanks to whoever it was!

Scraping off the all of the old shingles
My dad took a look at the old shingles after the storm and it looks like whoever installed them didn't do a proper job. I hope that our construction guys know what they're doing (ooph, I think one of them reassured me by hocking that huge loogie. Thanks...).

Petrie
Boy, it's getting chilly!! I hope that I can get my birds outside today to get some sunshine because they need all the outdoor time they can get before the weather gets too cold.

Awww... Poor cold birdy. He needs a hat and legwarmers.
CP - Oh no! He's gonna another thing to keep him warm at night because his companion died this morning. Now he's all alone... =(
So glad to see that you and Petrie are OK.
I feel very spoiled at our CA weather. When are you gonna move back? ;)
WoRC - We definitely could've used SoCal weather this past week when the construction crew kept being interrupted by unexpected showers.
Haha, some people said that I'll last for a year over here...about 2 more months and we shall see about that!
